Acorn Woodpecker – Camera Critters #24

The Clown at the Hanging Bird Bath photo by Larry Jordan

My first contribution to Camera Critters had to be a bird (of course).  And what better subject than the Acorn Woodpecker!  See my story about this clinging bird here Bring In The Clowns .

 Happy Birding!

Hi Juliana, Nice shots of the Parakeets! Don’t get them mixed up with bluebirds though.

Beautiful bird! I am partial to the pileated ones, myself, but they tend to be shy so it’s a treat to see them.

Hi Tink, I love woodpeckers in general but you’re right about the Pileated Woodpecker, they are more rare in these parts too.
