Oak Run Sunrise For Skywatch Friday

Oak Run Sunrise photo by Larry Jordan

I took this photo in the early hours of the morning of September 19th, just a few days before the fall equinox on Tuesday the 22nd.  I will be posting the results of my birding effort for the Birds of the Equinox promoted by Birdstack in a following post.  I was lucky enough to observe 35 species of birds in the hour and a half before going to work and the hour and a half after work that day.  For now, go over to Skywatch Friday and enjoy some more great sky photos, or better yet, join in the fun and post your own sky photo!

Nice photo. Looks like the sky is on fire. Would be interested to know how the weather was the rest of that day.

@Dawn yes we should start telling everyone about the November 21st BwBTC outing to the Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge and other yet to be determined birding hot spots! Would you like to see the Burrowing Owls while you’re here?

@Klaus thank you very much

@Clairz I thought it has been hot here, it looks like the Lake of the Flies is really hot

@Christina thanks for visiting

@John thank you very much. Did you do some birding on the Equinox?

@LV thanks for the coment

@Eileen thank you for sharing the Tetons!

@Cindy you would think we had a big storm coming huh? Nope. The sky cleared and it began to get hot again here. That day was beautiful though, with lots of birds out.

Hi LArry,
This is a beautiful shot. Well done man, the colors are wonderful. I saw the first Northern light yeterday evening and was hoping to get a shot at it, but I’m really bad at landscape (or not bird) shots!!
