White-breasted Nuthatch At Nut Feeder photo by Larry Jordan
I have two white-breasted nuthatches that visit my feeders regularly. I am hoping that they are a pair and will stay to nest in one of my nest boxes.
Since this is the final day of the Great Backyard Bird Count, I wanted to show how much fun backyard birdwatching can be. Just look at this cute little guy.

How nice to have nuthatches come to your feeders. Very nice capture of the bird in a cute pose. Good one, Larry!

This is one of my winter favorites. Looks like you had a terrific GBBC – me too!
Love that picture Larry and the fact that you were able to get it with food in its mouth.
I used to have nuthathes visit my yard, but they have not been here since October. I am guessing its because there are so many other birds at the feeder and they are rather shy.
I hope they decide to nest in your yard. It would be fun to read about this spring and summer.
Larry..what a cute little nutty. I have had a pair bring an offspring to the feeders for the past 2 seasons. I don’t know if they are the same pair, but I really enjoy them…
Ugh, second typing. I forgot to add the numbers. Great capture and pose of this guy. I did do a GBBC count in Delevan which was probably a disservice. Also counted my yard on Sun. It was the first time I took part in a count. Had fun.
Cute little nuthatch. I had a couple of Red-breasted Nuthatches at my feeder during the count. They are so small, and sweet.

lovely pic! I am just moved into the middle of fields, have had some great visitors, but not as amazing as yours………my favourites are the two jays and red woodpecker. I only ever saw one jay in my life so having regular visitors is such a treat. Tho one of my feeders has been destroyed, either by a squirrel or, I imagine, a clumsy pidgeon. We had a bird count here organised by the RSPB a few weeks ago, still waiting for the results
