Northern California’s Christmas Bird Counts started out with a bang this year. Saturday, December 14th, the first day of the 114th Christmas Bird Count, 27 enthusiastic counters had unseasonably warm and sunny weather to count 21,695 birds for the Fall River Mills Christmas Bird Count. Head on over to 1000 Birds to see my latest West Coast Beat Writer post, and if you haven’t participated in a Christmas Bird Count this season, check to see if there is one in your area to join. The 114th Christmas Bird Count ends January 5th.

Nice shot – and for once its a bird I can see as well!

WBW does take up a bit of time – its less of an issue in the winter, but things can get a bit busy in summer when I’m out and about in the evenings.

Thanks for all the links, comments and visits during the last year.

    Cheers – Stewart M – Melbourne
